As for the slipping when mounting as long as my girth is tight it has never been an issue. I have never had the saddle slip when dismounting. In fact when I ride Lady I have never noticed the saddle move anymore than any other saddle. I will say though that I do always ride with a breast plate and crupper. I will agree that it is like riding with a bareback pad and not a saddle. You have to check your girth more when using one of these. Jules
