Re: [RC] Knee Pain - rides2farI've had three sets of the synvisc injections. They do seem to help. chris I had synvisc injected into my knee. When they did it it was just a bit uncomfortable and felt "full". Next day I was a new person. Felt better than it had in forever. In about a week it seemed to wear off. :-( I never bothered to get it again. Didn't notice improvement with glucosamine either so that made me less enthusiastic to pay for it for my horse. I have more luck with "mechanical" improvements. I quit wearing shoes that I've worn out till they're turned over and exert uneven pressure on my knees. When I go for my walk instead of walking the slope of the road I may walk the middle where it's flatter (I know, I'll get run over and then what?) What helped me most was something Donna Snyder Smith demonstrated. Sit in a chair sitting up straight with your knees out in front of you. Stand up. It pulls across the knees and hurts. Now sit in a chair, lean forward till your weight is over your knees and just sort of unfold as you come up. Feels *much* better. I've learned to sort of my weight well forward as I rise posting and really don't have a lot of pain any more.
