Re: [RC] Rain - Truman Prevatt

I think we all know the difference down here in the Southland since most of our wet rides come in the winter. The coldest I've ever been riding was on JD's 100 one year. It's over Thanksgiving weekend and it seems to always rain this weekend. The coldest I've ever been was one year on Thanksgiving day back as a kid in Western KY. Thanksgiving is traditionally the first day of bird season and we were out all day.

The only thing to do is dress for it and then stop whining.

T, it's different in a cold rain than in a warm SE rain, isn't it?

Rain is rain - it all sucks, especially if you have to tack up in it.

I beg to differ, wet is very different from cold and wet. And your body knows the difference too, since cold and wet can lead to hypothermia much quicker than just wet. In fact, cold and wet can lead to hypothermia pretty damn quickly. When it is cold, wet makes a much bigger difference than it does when its not cold.

Warm and wet is just wet. Cold and wet is, quite literally, freezing to
death. :)
