Re: [RC] broken bones, screws, etc. - DESERTRYDR1Ok, just have to join in on the broken bone thread, as I sit here healing form a compression fracture of T-11 vertebra. No, it was NOT a horse accident, which is lucky for me, as my boss sort of threatened to fire me if I missed any more time due to a horse accident. (There were only three times, two cervical vertebra surgeries, and last year's broken pelvis) This one was work related, I fell in a five foot deep hole. I also had a slight but painful tear in my MCL (knee). I intend to wait the full six weeks before I ride again, mainly because I don't want to turn a work injury into a horse injury. But truthfully, if I thought I could get away with it, I feel good enough to ride right now. The bone doesn't hurt too much, it's been three weeks, but my back feels really tired-painful if I do to much. When I broke my pelvis, I was back on the horse at six weeks, before I was finished with PT, before I was walking without a cane. By the way Lysane, you have FOUR compression fractures? How'd you do THAT? jeri =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
