That is fine, but if they have the drag /
safety riders arrive, and they show they are missing a rider, and the
ribbons have been pulled, the rider could be wandering around, not sure
where to go, depending on the trail. Don't think riders can't get way off
trail and lost, and end up behind the drag riders. Seen it happen. Just
when you think "no one would do that", they do it.
We just never
pulled ribbons on the day of the ride, for that very
reason.

I agree- had a friend who did a ride where drag riders pulled ribbons in
front of her- apparently they had missed that she was still out there. She
thought she was lost- but wasn't. It was not a good scenario.
