Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] gaited arabs? - melinda harrelsoni was riding a half arab today. i could have swore i felt her do that big lick that twh's do. ooops that wasnt her feet. it was me when i hit the dirt. i was trying to teach her to gait and she had had all she could take. oh well guess i will just have to ride trot or ride a horse that actually gaits. feel free to flame away. melinda >From: Agilbxr@xxxxxxx >To: greymare56@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ("Karen Sullivan"), rides2far@xxxxxxxx >CC: whytrotfarms@xxxxxxxxx, ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] gaited arabs? >Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 22:05:16 -0500 > >Appy's can carry the gait wiring. They are called shufflers. A friends appy gelding out of one of the nicest trotting mares and a cutting bred quarter horse gaits. He does the nicest singlfoot. Looks like a buckskin tank of a quarter horse. Until he moves. Then people go "what is that??" His full sibling would gait if they hadn't insisted on a trot. She still tries from time to time, but is more pacey. > >The shuffling appys used to be valued as great riding horses until the show crowd decided that appy's shouldn't gait. > >Either way, Huckie is one heck of a trail horse, and fun to ride. Especially since he has a naturally collected, ride off into the sunset canter that I would pay good money to get my horse to do.
