Re: [RC] Best Equipment - Laney HumphreyPlease don't get sucked into believing that there is "best" endurance tack! The reason there is such a variety is that no two people/horses need the same thing! As for your leathers, if they work, why change? As for the Supracor pad: the pad doesn't have the grip that a fleece cover provides so it tends to slip both on the horse's back and on the bottom of the saddle. A lot of people tie the pad to the saddle (I use shoe strings) to keep it in place. A lot of slipping may indicate that your saddle doesn't fit as well as it should. The Supracor is not intended to correct poor saddle fit. If you have only a minor fit problem, a good foam pad can help fill in the gaps.Laney Dlpugli@xxxxxxx wrote: Does anyone have an opinion on the best endurance tack for stirrup leathers and saddle pads? Currently, I am using Thornhill leathers on my Synergist English Saddle and a Supracore Saddle Pad. No complaints on the leathers, but I have heard very good things about the Bates leather Webbers. Also, my Supracore Pad is all over my horse on strenuous mountain trails. Is the Toklat Pad a better idea? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
