Re: [RC] Saddle questions/advice?!?! - Ericka Nelson
Hi Erin,
Glad your back...input from the young is a good
thing.
I did look into a podium saddle for my hard to
fit horse. The only reason I didn't buy was because it would take a few
weeks to receive the demo. I think it is a good saddle and would love to
have one in my tack room. Steve Elliot has a nice website, and hopefully
he'll come and remind us all of the address.
I did buy a treeless saddle that was fashioned
after the poduim, a Torsion and their web is www.gotreeless.com Of
course, AERC convention is very close, can you wait till then and come see all
the saddles there?
I was wondering if anyone has or does ride in a podium
saddle? I've heard a little about them and I am looking into buyin
a saddle. I have a traditional orthoflex and I just dont have enough
"freedom" with my legs, and I being very young, it isn't that
good my knees to be killing me after a training ride(and taking advil/IB
profin?? before hand). So if anyone has ridden or does ride in a podium
saddle, if they could give me their opinion on the saddle(is it relatively
comfortable, do you have "freedom" in the legs, does it distribute weight
around the whole saddle--> not just one area,etc.). If someone could
give me some info on them that would be great!!! Or, if anyone has any
other suggestions on another saddle that they really like that does allow lots
of movement and distributes the weight well. My orthoflex is GREAT at
distributing weight, but i don't have much leg movement(which makes my ride
quite crappy and not very enjoyable...) and I have a stubben english
saddle and its great with movement but it puts a lot of pressure on my horses
back(like a lot of english saddles do, for my horse atleast). So...any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,
Erin
