RE: [RC] Thoroughbred - Ranelle RubinI have to agree with Tiffany, let's not get off on a T-bred vs Arab tirade..Both have their excellent qualities..I like what my friend who shows T-breds and has been VERY giving in helping with various training issues says about Arabs, "They are like little Tinker-Toys. All you have to do is tell them what you want and they do it." She says her T-breds are much more hard headed when it comes to training than the Arabs with which she has occasionally helped me. Our issues have been focussed on getting these horses to travel in frame, without their heads in the air. She has really helped me help several horses with this. I love the T-breds, but I am with you Tiffany, give me my 14'2" gelding and my 5'2" body is much happier. Ranelle What we truly and earnestly aspire to be, that in some sense we are. The mere aspiration, by changing the frame of mind, for the moment realizes itself. Read my post again Nancy before becoming so defensive. (Oh come on you guys). You will see that I owned a crazy and that I say, do I think all TB's are like that? My answer? No. No one is bashing TBs or barefooters or shod horses or Arabs. We are talking about them. One horse does not a breed make. TBs aren't for me after Vinnie, but if they are your thing-good for you. Don't read more into posts than is there in the first place. Tiffany-who desn't want to be on ANY 16.2 crazy, regardless of breed. Me, I had a TB once. Craziest damn horse I was ever around, and 16.2 to boot. Trust me, no one wants to be on a horse that tall with no wits about him. It's a long way down from up there. I was waiting to see who was going to get killed-he wound up flipping out in his stall and almost killing himself. Do I think they are all like that? No, but my experience was so awful you won't find me owning one. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
