Re: [RC] QH -- Charge Cindy - Suzi Maiorisi

I had a QH/Arab cross as a kid and while he was a great little guy (I do mean little, at best 13.3) who would take me anywhere, anytime and as fast or as slow as you wanted to get there.  I could stand on his back and I could sit under him for shade and lean on his back legs for a chair, really a no-brainer kind of a ride...I absolutely loved him and still have his picture hanging in my office, too.

On the other hand, I rode one of my sisters QH's this past week on a loooonnnngg trail ride (imagine 110 miles in 6 days taking 7-8 hours a day to do it OMG!) and I laughed at the end that she (QH) was trying to turn it into an endurance ride because she walked so slow I had to trot to keep up with the group...oh please put me back on my Morgan who can walk faster than this horse can lope!

Interesting......gosh.  Like I said, my QH/Arab cross is the pokiest horse I have ever had...although she is young and may pick up, I doubt it.  My Anglo was actually pretty laid back; a friends was pretty hot.  Another gal had an Arab/QH cross that would do nothing but jig.....pretty hot horse.

My Starman is supposedly a QH-Arab cross, although I really don't know for sure. He's the hottest, most reactive horse I've ever had. He's a blast to ride and a really good boy who knows his job well, but he's far hotter than any of the purebreds or Anglos I've raised.

Anyone else with this experience with Quarabs?

I'll bet a Quarab - Arabian/appendix QH with good Thoroughbred
