(and a gentleman). What was his breeding? Are you still riding one of his offspring? I was lucky enough to have riden side-by-side with Scottie -- with my mare. One fine stallion! Naomi I hope Dot chimes in with those details, Naomi--just wanted to correct the mileage, as he has 3440 miles. That was still quite an accomplishment, as he started his career back in the days when the article was published entitled "Can 1000-Mile Horses Still Win?" Since most of Scotch's record is pre-1985, it doesn't show in detail on the AERC database, but I know he did 100s--which is born out by the fact that the one 100 that shows on his record after 1985 is the ROC, for which he had to qualify. And even in the latter part of his career, he still posted a few Top Tens, too.
