[RC] Welcome Jackie from Alaska - JonniThis time of year is tough on some of the horse lists, as folks get cabin fever when they can't get out and ride due to bad weather etc. As the ride season gets going, usually, things get back to learning and sharing more, and squabbling less. Some will still squabble, but as they say, we can't always pick our relatives, or those on Ridecamp...and not everyone will always get along <wink> I'd actually be curious as to your riding season, riding conditions etc. in Alaska. I know they have a couple NATRC competitive rides there each year. Are most horses bred and raised there, or do folks buy them elsewhere, and ship them in. And personally, I'd also be curious as to the show circuit too, and how many shows they have. I guess that even though you are not disconnected and surrounded by water like Hawaii, I don't think of the horse industry as being very big there, and not a lot of competitions. That and since I have yet to visit, I picture it very wet or cold most of the year. So, welcome to Ridecamp, and don't leave. Scan the messages, and you will find good information there. Also, don't be afraid to ask a question. Just pass on asking about competing barefoot until next January <wink> Jonni =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
