Re: [RC] [RC] The February Debate - Maryanne GabbaniWell, I dunno but maybe you all haven't managed to. We haven't had such a cloudy, chilly February in ages. Yuck. Of course it does clear up by mid-day usually and is perfectly rideable weather. In fact three friends and two dogs and I did a memorial Dahshur Dawdle on Friday in a sandstorm and had a great time. We dawdled all right and had a more respectable (to my way of thinking) LD riding time of about 4.5 hours. Of course we stopped to play at the lake on the desert side (Steph and Jackie know where I mean) and discovered that my new mare is a seahorse. Most of our good desert Arabs assume that they are made of date sugar and will melt in the water, but Stella waded right into the lake, crossed the water crossing (a whole 18 in with a 5 in depth) and then even crossed the canal at the end of the lake. The rest of the wusses went around after prolonged discussion. So we stopped at a new neighbour of mine in Dahshur and celebrated with a beer before heading home through the villages.Maryanne On Feb 7, 2005, at 2:53 AM, Laurie Durgin wrote: Your right--how 'bout everyone who is 'testy' send some, endless cold rain, 2ft. of snow, icy/sleet /slush, 8" deep mud,and lack of light and their 'winter hopelessnes'-- and Maryanne will send some "Sunshine and desert air"!!!!:0)-----Mud and rain on it's way..... =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
