Uh oh - I'vew never heard banana peels are poisonous to chickens! I sometimes give the peels to my chickens rather than the horses if I forget to give them to the horses... haven't had a chicken die from a banana peel yet, but then I can't recall that they eat them either. Mostly they just let them lay there and eventually the peels get composted with the chicken manure.
