[RC] GPS info - Dream WeaverThis page has a ton of links to info on GPS: http://www.gpsy.com/gpsinfo/The best way to figure out a GPS is to turn it on and go for a ride with it :). Though, reading some of this info ahead of time is useful, and the manual will also tell you which buttons to push (or not to push). I had no trouble figuring out my Garmin III+ in 2001, when we rode almost 2000 miles with it. It's sort of like sink or swim, you jump on a horse, turn on the GPS with the route already in it and you somehow figure it out! Now I've got a Garmin 301 that also includes a HRM, and I can't figure it out. I think I'm pushing a button for this or that, and instead I am starting and stopping my workout recordings, so instead of having one or two sections per day on a ride I have 6 or 7. I just can't seem to remember which buttons it is that I'm not supposed to push....oh well, guess I'll keep practicing! Now I mainly use the GPS to figure out my rate of speed, and then I am mostly just concerned with my overall average. I also like having it so that if I do get lost, I can follow my tracks back or at least I can find basecamp again, that is if it's not point to point. I try to mark a waypoint for camp so that I can find it again.
