That really isn't a challenge for Spot, or Alpine for that matter...they just kind of hop over it. Head to Altoona, Tillis Hill or Croom. There are some hills in ONF - you might need a local to show where they are. There are some nice training hills at both Tillis Hill and Croom. Croom has a lot of old limestone pits - lots of up and down some pretty steep, but short enough the horse can't get in over his head. You don't need anything really big to get them started, you just need the slope. The thing you need for down hill is the same butt muscles he already has. He just needs to understand how to use them.
