Re: [RC] Tevis Start at Soda Springs - indiancpLOL some of these storys brought back my first ct ride (many years ago) on my mule. he galloped the whole thing!! it was a 25 and he and i fought the first ten miles or so but i finally gave up and let him just go!! when we got to the line i dismounted and just sat holding the reins until the hours passed and i could go on in. he'd had a snaffle bit which is what i'd always used on him but from that day on he wore an english hack and was never another moments problem. believe it or not his p and r's were amazing!it's so funny looking back on that ride but it sure wasn't funny or fun then!! fortunately we didn't run into anyone's rump, only because we were so far ahead of everyone else!! patty in georgia Man does not have the only memory, The animals remember, The earth remembers, The stones remember, If you know how to listen, they will tell you many things. I vividly remember someone called "The Officer" an older gentleman of European decent, dressed accordingly, bombing down the trail at the start, out of control, foaming at the mouth. He appeared in his late 60's or whatever. I believe he crashed in the first five miles. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
