Re: [RC] Foal crashes w/ tetrecycline - Lif StrandQuoted from Ridecamp Guest's message at 08:27 AM 12/21/2005:my endurance Foal was "over at the knees" given tetracycline injection to release tendons (late afternoon). If someone could explain about how tetracycline releases tendons, I'd appreciate it. I can't understand the connection. Katie - how old was the foal when given the injection? I, too, would be very interested in reading why such an injection might cause the reaction in that foal. Could it be connected to kill off of intestinal bacteria from the tetracycline, essentially causing the foal to have starved overnight, unable to absorb any nutrition/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
