If they ride longer or the horse needs it, they shoe. Its no big deal, its no "way", you just do what you need to do. End of story. That's pretty much the bottom line that many of us have tried to portray, Lysane. You put it in a nutshell. (And you are correct that Darolyn also shoes when the situation warrants--something that too many who claim to follow her methods don't seem to understand.) And Tom Sites has the right idea, too--this is a debate, not a crusade. The problems come about when it becomes the latter.
