[RC] barefootin' - Sue WalzA barefoot thread! I must contribute! I will never do anything but barefoot for any horse I ever own again! On occasion, we must accomodate rides & managers that require foot protection. Boots are difficult at best. The new epics have their problems, too. When they fly off, they tear apart! I had plastic hoof-it shoes tacked on to my Raven for Tevis. He slipped repeatedly in the Granite Chief Wilderness. Consequently, I chose to ride around Cougar Rock & opt out of the famous photo op. Barefoot he takes rocks like a cat, gripping & feeling his way through them. I'm going to try the Hoof-it paint on hoof repair this season on several rides & see how well it lasts & protects. Raven can do most 50's now with no protection at all! I want minimal protection when it is required. The Barefoot Endurance Diva is Darolyn Butler-Dial, for sure! Everyone who rides endurance owes it to their horse to read her barefoot treatise on her site: http://www.horseridingfun.com/barefootin.html~Sue Walz Susan Walz CMG 877-385-9120 541-343-6833 541-221-0955 cell Marsan Kennel - End Results Grooming 2040 West 18th Ave Eugene, Oregon 97402-3631 http://www.MarsanKennel.com http://users.rio.com/marsan http://SueSlimSite.tsfl.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
