Re: [RC] (no subject) - heidiRio did a whole lot of 100's in under 10 hours and retired sound.....He had over 10,000 miles and most of them were 1st place....That is sure fast to my way of thinking.........................mb (Rio's loyal crew) Yes, Rio did indeed do several fast 100s. RT Muffin did at least 6 sub-10 100s, and his pre-1985 record is not on-line, so there may have been a few more (or a few faster). But what struck me about Muffy's record is that from 1985 on, he did 24 sub-4 50s, three of which were sub-3. (And I vetted his fastest one, which was 2:18--yes, the course was a BIT short, but was measured afterward at 48 miles, give or take a tenth, so wasn't all THAT short! The weather and footing conditions were darn near perfect, and Darla came in with her eyes bugging out of her head because she had never ridden so fast in all her life!) I didn't stop to count his sub-5 50s... Muffy only ran as fast as he had to to win, and usually didn't get pushed as hard on the 100s as he did on the 50s--nonetheless, if those figures for the 50s isn't flat-out racing, I don't know what is. And he held up for MANY years, and over 9000 miles. Heidi =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
