Re: [RC] [RC] deadly bicyclist/ - RavenWhy? We don't share pavement with NASCAR drivers! Obviously even though they can use the same pavement, the format of use is *incompatible* and therefore dangerous to both types of drivers. Ditto for hiking/riding and biking. Anyone who wants to barrel down trails at speeds more appropriate for freeways shouldn't be on the same trail as those on foot (be they human or horse What about riders who canter and gallop their horses down the trails? Should they not be allowed to do this? I also hate to see bikes roaring down the trails, but we can't set speed limits on them...without also setting speed limits for the horses. What we need to do is work together to make trails safe for all users. Encourage both riders and bikers not to race around blind corners, for instance. I think that all user groups must work together, educated all trail users and promote safety on the trails and proper "right of way" signage on all multi-use trails. In my area ...there are more hikers, bikers and ATV users than horse users. If we as a horse group start demanding this & that, well...we may end up losing the trails we use. Anywho...just my thoughts. Cya, Raven =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
