Re: [RC] LD BC - Don HustonThe LD ride is and should remain classified as an entry level ride instituted for use by new riders and or new horses to help them learn the sport of endurance. Of course the LD can be used by anyone for any purpose they want but it is not an endurance ride as spelled out by the AERC rules. If you like it that's fine, enjoy it, I have and you don't have to move up but an LD ride is exactly what it says, limited distance, not endurance and for YOU definitely not a training ride.Don Huston At 11:08 AM 11/30/2005 Wednesday, you wrote: But it's NOT "only" a training ride. My mare and I are way past the training stage and we prefer to ride this distance. We are competing and just because I'm not the most competitive person out there, doesn't mean I'm not. 50's & 100's are no longer the be all and end all of distance riding. I may never move up, for various reasons, but mostly because I LIKE this distance. It fits me and it's definitely NOT a training ride.
