BC for LD has been done the same way as BC for endruance distances in 
several regions for years NW, SE and CT come to mind. This method is 
being used now in most regions. Our experience in the SE is the same as 
Hedi's in the NW - it's not big deal and the predictions of doom and 
gloom have not materialized. Like Heidi I find it a bit perplexing that 
there is such an issue with it. The bottom line with LD BC is the vet 
score is more important compared to time than it is the the longer 
distances because the time span in the LD is smaller.

If the issue is one of 4 year old horses being too young - then deal 
with that and raise the age limit to 5 across the board for any AERC 
sanctioned event and be done with it.
