Hello Pat,

The movie that you were referring to was "The Miracle of the White Stallions" 
starring Robert Taylor and produced by Disney. Several years ago, a friend gave 
me a copy of the video. Good flick! I haven't seen the performances here in the 
states, but we took our son to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna a few years 
ago  to see the Lipizzans perform. You're right, it's a beautiful spectacle of 
horsemanship.  Hope this helps!
