Drinkable yogurt, lowfat with sugar, no artificial
sweetners. Regular yogurt, peanut butter twix, granola bars - the chewy ones
peanut butter w/chocolate chips. Gatorade, but no strange flavors
(orange or grape are my choice), water. I have trouble eating while I
ride (I have severe acid reflux and refluxing while riding is no fun). I
wouln't describe any of this a nourishment. It just keeps me from
passing out after breakfast wears off.
Breakfast is what really
fuels me through a ride. It is usually some egg dish with ham and cheese
in it. I usually have some juice (carrot), some toast and coffee.
Also, I eat like there is no tomorrow after a ride. It is almost
embarrasing. At the Moonlight 50 in 2004, the brunch they served the
next morning was spectacular. They served each of us 1/2 a chicken that
was roasted. I ate my half a chicken and 1/2 of my husbands! 1/2 a
chicken. That was before we got in the car for the 4 hour ride
home. The car ride is just a way for me to eat even more.

What
kind of nourishment do you, as an endurance rider, eat and drink during the
ride in order to keep from falling out? Your input would be greatly
appreciated.
Thank-you
