Re: [RC] novice class, LD taken seriously, stats for you - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Stacy Motschenbacher msmots13@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I had one of the original posts on this discussion and I thank all of the people that gave me factual information on why LD is set up the way it is. I see LD as a growing-changing class that seems to have evolved from what it started as. 87% of the riders average over 30 rides each (see stats on prev post) and my original post was to start a novice program where no placings are given to novice riders so that the 87% can compete without encouraging the novice riders. I see this in other styles of sports and the novice's usually make out with really great gifts! As a "welcome aboard!" My intentions were purely selfish. I see ALL of the rides I could attend next year with my one and only endurance horse, and there is no I can do all of them without using some of them as conditioning rides (LD). But it would be nice to have those miles included as AERC miles. This is, apparently an unpopular idea (whew!) But my intention was not to start a heated discussion, and if any of you see me at a ride, come over to my camp for a beer, or gatorade, or one of those new fancy drinks that have beer AND electrolyes, B Vit, etc. (not sure when it is politically correct to drink those) -Stacy Motschenbacher =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
