However, you have to admit that it is usually much easier to top 10 in
a 100 mile ride than it is in a 50 or 25. (Where both are
offered).

If you mean there is less competition, that may be the case. But
EASIER? I don't think so. If you want to look at stats, compare the completion
rates for LDs to 100s. You'll see there is NOTHING easy about a 100,
including top tenning.
