Both my daughter's mare (14.2H) and my mare (14.3H) are
consistently clocked with my GPS at 4.5+ MPH at the walk. I don't think having
to go 5MPH would be considered racing.

That's 5 MPH, oohhh, that's racing speed! CTR is faster than
that, and there are horses that have a 5 MPH walk. This is not what anyone
is talking about when the are talking about LD's racing.
