Re: [RC] Rude riders Who has right of way - Laney HumphreyI'd like to think they yield because it's the rule (law?) but I know that's not the case, at least on our local BLM land. There are almost no signs to remind people. I think hikers/walkers do it out of a sense of self preservation. Our local bikers are getting better about at least slowing down and making eye contact but we still have more than I feel safe around who just speed right on by, oblivious to how that affects our horses.Laney Sisu West Ranch wrote: Usually walkers and bikers will yield to riders. The reason is that on narrow mountain trails it is much easier and safer for humans to move off of the trail on the down hill side than it is for horses, mules or pack strings to move off of the trail. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
