[RC] Tom Ivers ! - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Dennis Farnham dfarnham09@xxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== Hello everyone, Concerning Tom's contributions, I do know that our training/conditioning program was missing something. I found that piece of the puzzle in Tom's writings. It was one piece, but a very critical piece. I don't know if any of you have noticed his mantra concerning his efforts with the equine athlete: "PRESERVE AND ENHANCE" Also we should't forget that Tom is primarily concerned with "preserving and enhancing" at elite levels of equine, athletic performance. It's not very difficult to "preserve" when one's goal is the accumulation of pleasurable miles on the trail, but one isn't really enhancing athletic ability of horse or rider...which is certainly okay and an admirable goal. Once again the apples and oranges syndrome rears its ugly head in the conversation. Anyway, thanks Tom for all the research you've done and the synthesizing of said research in your writings. Don't really know why you perservere...I'd think you would be weary of being a "voice crying in the wilderness" by now. Enjoy the ride, Dennis =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
