Re: [RC] Arizona Story - Bruce WearyThanks Angie for making Dayna and I look so good in the telling of your story. You WOULD have to include the part about my crash and burn. I have a reputation to maintain, ya know.In regards to the electrolytes, we do use them, but this was a cool day, the horses had only been trailered 45 minutes, and they were fit and well rested. There was some powdered electrolytes in their feed, just no syringe dosing. If it was hot, and they had been trailered farther, I would dose them the night before and use tiny doses throughout the day just to keep them drinking. Somtimes all it takes is the salt from my margarita at vet check 2. The grain Heisman was eating (he will literally eat anything and everything, a rider's dream) was Purina Race Ready, which has some beet pulp in it, and a little water. I think there was some senior feed in there, too. Here in the west, the horses sweat plenty, it's just that it dries so quickly, you can be fooled as to how much water your horse is losing. Angie, you're welcome anytime. Just let us know when you're coming, and we'll leave the light on for you. As a matter of fact April would be a good time. We'll be painting the house and we could use you for the trim........................Bruce Weary =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
