Re: [RC] 3h straight load - Zephyr Arabians--- Chris Paus <paus@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: April, that would be a really long trailer! Chris is right. I've got a four-horse straight load trailer w/ a small dressing room. I've non-permanantly converted it to a three-horse with a rear tack and poor-man's LQ in the dressing room. So it's got two stalls in the front & one stall in the back; the front divider could be removed as well to make the front stall a box stall, but I would want to put bars on the windows before I'd do that (they're too small for a horse to *safely* put their head out, but not too small to keep them from trying). Anyway, that sucker is LONG. I've been trailer shopping (window shopping, can't do anything yet) and a three-horse slant with a decent sized LQ is shorter than my trailer. By quite a bit. It's an older trailer, 1978, but very sturdy. Always nice to know someone else with an old trailer. Ours is a 1974. Like Chris' trailer, it's solid & sturdy. In fact, it's a lot of steel rolling down the road. And it's got a LOT more years in it. It's just too long for my use (cramped ridecamps & I've usually only got one horse in it so it's overkill) and the dressing room is cold & uncomfortable for sleeping. It would be a great trailer for someone who goes to shows (ie. parking lots with lots of room) and doesn't want to overnight inside it. But, for now, it'll do the job! And at least I'm not in a tent. :) ~Nicole Zephyr Arabians http://www.zephyrarabians.com KattWmn Web Design http://www.kattwmn.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
