Re: [RC] Taking horses to higher elevations - Truman PrevattI've routinely taken my horse from the great sand bar know as Florida where my house sits about 150 feet above sea level to the Rocky's. After a day or two rest from the long trailer ride they are rip roaring ready to go and I've not noticed any problems they have with the altitude. Twice we've stayed in the Rockys for a prolonged period of time ( I was working out of Denver ) and didn't notice any "let down after a few days." In fact they seem to do better because the humidity is so much lower.Humans on the other hand normally take awhile to acclimate. Go - have fun - take care of yourself - the horses will be fine.
