Re: [RC] [RC] Horsepool for the Alabama Yellowhammer ride? - REVISED - Christina Schiro

Mel, I don't think you should offer to pay ALL the gas. They are going to ride too and bringing THEIR horse and tack. I think you should stick to paying 2/3.

I think Karen missed one thing that the hauling person has to do: clean the trailer when they get home from the trip which I personally feel is a huge pain! (pick up manure, rinse off the flooring, tidy up the tack area/rearrange to how it was before you made room for another rider, pick up loose hay, wash/scrub the bugs of the front of the truck and trailer).

Hey, ya know that totally makes sense...if I was going on my own I would
have to pay all of the gas anyway - Thinking about it that way, it might be
more economical for me to just haul on my own. I have a diesel truck that
is more fuel effecient and cheaper to fill up, plus I don't have a great big
huge trailer to worry about hauling. I was more or less hoping for someone
experienced to go with. I would pay more for the trip to be able to ride to
camp with someone that can tell me a bit about what I have gotten myself
into!

If there is someone who has some experience and would be willing to haul me
and my horse I am game and would pay ALL fuel cost, and sign a waiver about
damages to my horse or me...My horse is a good hauler - 22 years old and
knows the ropes.

Thanks for the good advice!
