Another concern with automatic waterers is power
outages. I have 80 gallon troughs in each of my 3 pastures so when we have
no power to pump water from the well, we still have a few days supply of water.
When that runs out, we can scoop from the pool & carry buckets to the
troughs.
orses not wanting to bump a hot pad was mentioned,
but what about the pad being too cold for the horse to want to bump? Some
horses probably wouldn't care, but others could be too sensitive to want to
subject their little noses to that.
