Re: [RC] politics, dog ticks, and every other kind of ticks.... - Laney HumphreyI guess none of us picked up on your assumption that there were qualifying requirements for multi-days. There aren't any official ones. You just enter and go. Some multi-day rides offer LDs as well as 50s and it is never a requirement that you ride all the days. The flexibility to ride as much as one wants is one of the appeals.FEI rides are usually sanctioned by the AERC but are also governed by FEI rules. Riders who ride under FEI rules are aiming at competing on the international level. Some rides are run under both AERC and FEI rules so some riders ride under FEI rules and some under just AERC regulations. Now it's probably as clear as mud! Most riders start by riding AERC 50s. Some horses have the capacity to continue, day after day and those horses do well in multi-day rides. Some horses have the capacity to do well at 24 hour/100 mile rides. If the rider is inclined to attempt to be competitive at the international level, they start competing in FEI rides. Hope this helps! Laney Jo Ann Knight wrote: Sorry I'm being dense.
