[RC] Owyhee High Country - Steph TeeterWe're about ready - trails are marked, camp is ready. It's rockier this year - the spring rain/floods have really washed out the trails. If you are coming and haven't padded, easyboots would be a good idea. Day One will be through Sinker Canyon (gorgeous canyon trail, rocky). Day Two is around Toy Mountain for the 55's, up to the foothills below the mountains for the 30's. Rocky sections. Day Three will be similar to the 50 mile trail for Arabian Nights - pretty good footing, some sand, some rock, but not too bad. You'll have the loop around Wild Horse Butte along the river. For those of you that rode the 50 at AN, I won't have you do the 'death march' up the ridge for the last stretch. You'll finish in front of camp coming out of Lost Juniper Ranch. Dinners: we're doing this different this year - Dinners will be Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. (leftovers if anybody is around for Monday and would starve otherwise). Menu: Friday - spaghetti dinner, Saturday - beef, potatoes, gravy, Sunday - stew and biscuits. (we're trying to keep the menus simple for the simple folks) Vets are Robert Washington (head vet), Gene Nance, Dick Root. Sarah is riding!
