My heart goes out to the family and that poor sweet filly. My own filly, Kaci (who was born on my farm) was also two years old when she was caught out in her 70 acre pasture in Maryland. The perpetrators hog tied her and mutilated her genitals in a horrendous fashion. She did recover and I still own her. However, she does not allow many men near her (especially if they are wearing gloves and/or a hat) to this day and she is 13.
My prayers that they are able to save the filly and her tail. My prayers also to the family who will have a hard time recovering from this themselves. I know their pain.
