 Great observation, Laney!  It could be that too.  Katie may want to try a 
different saddle, or inserts in the pad (if not using them already?)  The 
bumps I get on Chief's back if I pull his tack off too fast are sort of 
random and often you can't see them, but you can feel them.    Karen
