Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] Specialized saddles - LisaHi Cindy, I have a high-withered, narrow, Thoroughbred mare, and she does great in her Specialized saddle. The modification I made to allow room for the high wither was to set the front of the panels up higher into the gullet. You can also order a 'Slim-line' pommel for these saddles, which is made to accommodate horses with high withers. If you are interested in photos of my mare in her saddle, just let know. The shims are a breeze = to set up and you can easily fit the saddle to any horse out there - so = if your gelding (like my mare) ends up with a few months off and is no = longer wide here and narrow there (mine's just plain round everywhere = now as I've been down for 2 months now) you can adjust it to fit as = needed even after you get it all set up...can easily change it to fit = another horse you ride, too, just get extra shims and have them ready = for the adjustment. This is the most comfortable saddle I've ever = ridden in, and I've ridden in quite a few Suzi. ----- Original Message ----- From: Cynthia Eyler<mailto:eylerca@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: Ridecamp<mailto:ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, August 03, 2005 6:24 PM Subject: [RC] Specialized saddles I'm interested in Specialized Saddles' International model for my = gelding. Would it be appropriate for a narrow horse with moderate but = bony withers? Would I likely need to do a lot of experimentation with = various shims (I'm not likely to be very good at such operations) in = order to make it work?
