[RC] Preventing rubs w/silicone or latex - Jonni

Kathy, if the boots rub, look for a different pair that might not rub. Some
styles fit different horses better than others. We have had good luck in
general with the boots Henry Griffin makes:

Also, after you hose them off after a ride, do not let them dry in the sun,
and keep them slightly "curved" when they dry. Also, you can dunk them in a
bucket with some fabric softener in it, to keep them a little softer. We
have never had reactions to the fabric softener on the boots, but I'm sure
some super sensitive horse might. I really prefer to not use boots, but
understand some horses may need to for protection from whacking themselves,
or being clumsy over rocks and such.
