Quietly that decision, for medically necessary implants, is being reversed. That whole thing was fueled by some lawyers who needed to make payments on yachts etc. Almost all of the "expert" testamony that silicone was bad can be traced to one witness, whose scientific credentials are at least suspect. I believe that in most cases the "expert" testamony from both sides confused the jury. The jury then sided with the crying person whose "life was ruined" and gave the person some of the "bad, greedy, evil corporation's" money in compensation. Personally, if I were to loose a body part to a cancer operation I would not hesitate to have a silicone implant inserted. Looking like everyone else in the locker room can be important for mental health.
