Re: [RC] Tevis question - Sarah SimmonsI am glad you've got some nice jacks Sue. Your jenny (is "filly" the right word with a donkey?) sounds very cute. I am sure a lot of their temperment has to do with how they are raised. Like Pat Parelli says (I don't know the EXACT quote) Donkeys and Mules are just like horses but EVEN MORE SO! : ) Sarah P.S. There is a local man who runs a car wash in town wo raises mules. He refuses to keep jacks because of how mean he says they are. He has a lot of problems with their feet. I would think that because of hybrid vigor, mule's feet would be stronger than both the parents? --- Sue Singletary <ssingle@xxxxxxx> wrote: I think that they just get a bad name. I have several jacks in one pasture and they tend to be very sweet loving creatures. Mine are all out of adopt a donkeys. I know that people tend to abuse them because they will not do anything that they will hurt themselves doing. This would tend to make them mean. I have a baby jenny donkey about 6 months old that will pick a coffee can and hand it to you for a treat.
