Yup. Freezing rain is UGLY. We had 7 days of freezing
rain here in Kansas the first two weeks of January.
It's hideous. Temps in the teens and 20s with rain!
The horses hate it, we hate it! I'd much rather have
snow.

No, it just means there is a warmer layer above
where you are that is
producing the rain.  Freezing rain is nasty
stuff--it comes down as rain,
but freezes when it hits the colder temps on the
ground, and coats
everything with ice.
