Re: [RC] Ford trucks and Lemon Laws - Barbara McCraryDo you have a Consumer Affairs agency where you live? Good Housekeeping often goes to bat for people with flawed merchandise....don't know whether that would extend to trucks. How about Consumer Reports magazine? I'd keep after it if I were in your position. And I'd probably change truck brands, too. My husband is on his second Dodge Ram diesel and wouldn't consider any other brand. He had the first one for 12-13 years. Not very high mileage, but HARD miles. His new one is a 2005 and is so much better even than the older one, which is still serving someone else in his company. I'm sure there are consumer advocate groups that could help you. Just don't know their names. An Internet search? We currently have a F350 diesel with major engine trouble. This vehicle would qualify for Lemon Law repurchase if it were an F250. Under GA lemon laws and many other state lemon laws if a truck has a towing capacity of over 10,000 lbs. it does not qualify for Lemon Laws. News to me. In other words, if you purchase a truck that is big enough to tow your horse trailer loaded and it turns out to be a lemon. Quess what, it is yours until death or trade do you part. Ford Motor Co. has pretty much washed their hands of this whole mess and if you think customer satisfaction is at the top of their list, think again. My husband and I have bought 7 new Fords in 19 years from the same dealer and they won't even return our calls. Better get Ram tough of Like a Rock.
