Yep, going 70 you have the Eisenhower tunnel (11,000 feet) - a long 
climb coming out of Denver. Then there is Vail pass (about 11,000 feet) 
- a long pull. On I80 you cross the divide at (about 7000) feet and the 
only real climb is in Utah and that's not a big deal.

The highest part of the Rockies are in CO and I70 runs right through them.
