They mostly take 1/3 unless the case goes to trial, then 40% but
that is of the net not the gross settlement. And guess what....if they
lose they don't get their costs back and sometimes have to pay the costs of the
adverse party, if they can't deal with the other attorneys. The costs can
be huge.................I have worked both plaintiff and defense for personal
