RE: [RC] Clothing used for hot, sunny desert riding, love to hear from non-USA riders too. - T. RashidI use some of the "technical" summer/sunscreen shirts from REI. My favorite for hot weather is a white, long sleeved shirt that has two zip down sections on each side for ventilation. It is a collared shirt and the collar actually can be unfolded twice to give maximal neck protection (though I never do that while riding). The shirt sleeves can be rolled up and then held there with straps that button to the sleeves. (It also has a zip chest pocket that I use for my vet card.) On top of all that, the material (possibly treated) is rated at SPF30. (If it's a treatment that may only last through a certain number of washings.) It's cool, light, and if it gets wet it dries almost instantly. That also helps when you are sweating. There are lots of excellent technical fabrics out there these days. Check hiking / outfitter type stores. These materials work much better for wicking / evaporation and stand up to repeated washings much better than their more "natural" counterparts. Good luck! .Terri Redmond, WA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
