Re: [RC] Ultium Feed - Jon . LindermanYes Purina dealers have to go thru training. Its very expensive comapred to jo-bob's country mill mix & they'd like people to understand why. I've been to several of the training seminars, usually as the nanny for new baby. I did a wee bit some of the really really basic things that sorta found its way to the feed & the infamous Ray Goer ws a former student...brilliant guy! The talks may go over some folks heads, okay probably most, but thats what they want to do instead of copying someone else's feed bag tag. What is the highest form of flattery is imiatation. We feed it to moderately working 4H arab, a racing standard bred, a hard-to-keep-weight-on-retired-TB-turned-dressage horse, and my 1/2 arab endurance horse. No one is hyper, shouldn't be due to the low-simple carb formula. One world class saddlebred barn said they thought maybe their horses were a bit too calm (????). Its worked great for all of ours. My only problem is that the endurance horse doesn't like it at all at vet checks, period, nada, zilch. But then again last year he decided beet pulp was off his list too. I let him eat race ready and omolene at VC's right now. BTW, my daughters older arab has early Cushinbgs symptoms and is doing well with the feed too. Should be a good formula to avoid founder & has good fiber too. Jon K. Linderman, Ph.D., FACSM
